Thanks to the first ever Formula One night race in Singapore, big spenders in Singapore
have boosted business for high-end social escort agencies
by 20 to 30%, a local paper reported Thursday (25/09/2008).
Social escort agencies say business is up by 20 percent as a result of the F1 race, with one client
reportedly paying 40,000 Singapore dollars (28,368 US) for a six-hour booking, according to the local newspaper.
The owner of an agency expects business to be boosted by 75 per cent, while the

website was offering special F1 discounts of 50 percent or more for bookings with the agency,
which asked: "What are you waiting for? Check out our social escorts and book now.” the Straits Times reported.
Moreover, the newspaper also reported that, a social escort's main job is to smile and to entertain the client
and mingle with his friends. It was noted that Singapore Escort
agencies made clear that sexual services were not part of the deal.
Agency owners say their high-profile clients are picky about their escorts, asking for companions
"from a good family background and at least a university degree," the Straits Times said.
"They want escorts who don't look, sound or dress like escorts. They want people to think,
'what a nice girlfriend he has'," it quoted an agency head as saying.
Prostitution is legal in Singapore, but pimping and soliciting in public are not. Many low-end prostitutes from overseas work
out of brothels or on the street in the Geylang red-light district, which will be far from the Formula One action.
